Artist Trading Cards – Joan Miro Inspired Elliptical Eggs

Artist Trading Cards and Joan Miro – Perfect Combination!
I’m really excited about drawing on Artist Trading Cards. I’ve created a few mini artworks on these tiny little cards, so far – Artist Trading Cards – Using Dots to Outline and Doodling With Circles and most recently Artist Trading Cards – Joan Miro Inspired Shamrocks.
My newest creations are elliptical shaped drawings on ATC cards (2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″) inspired by Joan Miro – a famous Spanish painter. His style of Surrealism appeals to me because of the simplicity and the abstractions that occur in his work.
Since it is Easter, I was inspired to draw an egg shape for each Artist Trading Card. Then I transformed them by adding Joan Miro inspired elements. I love the way he uses lines to divide shapes and then colors each new piece a different color.
His work uses a lot of lines to divide shapes so each drawing I did began with dividing lines.
Then I add in a lot of circular elements.
I continued by coloring my “Joan Miro Eggs” with a limited palette, similar to a lot of his works.
I used my new duo tip markers – a lot of color choices and they were very inexpensive. I really think their quality is quite good.
