Spearmint Rose Petal Body Scrub
Body Scrubs are wonderful, especially when you can make your own!
I just loved my Brown Sugar Honey Foot Scrub that I made about a month ago, and I had an itching to make another kind. I looked outside and saw my roses in full bloom and decided yes, that is what I need to use! Then I thought, my spearmint recently sprang up in the garden and that would go great with roses!
I did a little research on roses and found that they promote glowing skin and contain natural oils and sugars that lock in moisture. Spearmint I found out has antiseptic properties.
Time to begin… I decided to use white sugar this time, as I wanted it to be light and fresh looking and I wanted to see the roses and spearmint.
1/2 cup white sugar
4 tbsp. coconut oil Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 16 Ounce)
rose petals from one rose – chopped
(don’t have roses – try using NOW Rosewater Concentrate, 1-Ounce)
about 7-9 leaves of spearmint – chopped
(don’t have spearmint leaves – try using Spearmint Oil – 1 OZ (100% Pure and Natural) from NOW)
Put into a container and you are ready to use to exfoliate your tired body parts. Just rub into your skin– rinse with warm water and towel dry. That simple. Great for using on your feet or hands or anywhere!
The recipe makes more than enough for a few uses. This should allow for at least 12 applications – depending on how many body parts you exfoliate! My recipe for Brown Sugar Honey Foot Scrub was 1/2 the size of this recipe and I was able to exfoliate my feet about 6 times.
Keep for yourself or give as a gift!
I love the idea of making my own body scrubs because they use ingredients you already have in your pantry or garden and because every ingredient in it is all natural – no weird things that you don’t know what they are or how to pronounce them!
